Excellent comparison between two vacs considered top-of-the-line. I favored the Eureka before the comparison, and think so afterwards. Hoovers are great at carpet cleaning, but put almost any Hoover on a floor and what it's supposed to be picking up looks like a running dog on a wet floor: everything goes flying/sliding. And as I said the Eureka is quieter(even with the second motor) and it is semi self-propelled. The one advantage the Hoover has to the Eureka is a larger dust bin, but what good does that do when the Eureka picks up better? Bottom line, both machines are heavy, but the Eureka makes up for it in it's features and good power-suction. One last note; I noticed that were I ran the Eureka over the floor there are what look like brushroll marks. I think they are from the popcorn, but I can't be certain. In the end, the shark sweeper was used to clean up the remains.
